Shaping Learning through Design
An addition to the middle school that takes design inspiration from the surrounding natural beauty.
Tarmac Turned to Team Space
Tetra Tech converted the old Clinton County Municipal Airport hangar in Plattsburgh into the Conference Center for Champlain Valley Educational Services (CVES), creating a flexible, multiuse facility that brings many BOCES functions together in one location.
Sparkling Streams for our Future
The Minisink Valley Central School District faced a critical challenge with its aging wastewater treatment plant, which was no longer able to meet campus demands and was at risk of failure.
Shifting Gears to Electric Fleet
Queensbury Union Free School District sought to meet the state mandate to transition school buses to electric power, and Tetra Tech was engaged to design the infrastructure needed to meet the first phase of the District’s fleet electrification effort.
A Wall and Two Halls
A 1960‘s era 250-seat lecture hall in the core of Ithaca High School was no longer an effective use of space sixty years later. Instead, the District required flexible spaces for 60-80 people, equipped to support staff meetings, professional development and mid-sized groups of students.
From Split to Soaring Space
Tetra Tech led a complex, design‑forward renovation to create a new state‑of‑the‑art gymnasium and Wellness Center for Waverly High School.
Hooked on Center Stage
For decades, the Red Hook Central School District—serving roughly 1,800 students in the Mid‑Hudson region south of Albany—relied on cafeterias and a gymnasium as makeshift performance venues.
Hands On STEM
Tetra Tech served as the architectural and engineering firm for the new STEM suite at Cazenovia High School, partnering closely with the school and the NYS Education Department to find expansion opportunities without reducing building aid.
Community Pitch
Like many Districts upgrading their athletic facilities, Waverly Central School District aimed to transform its poor- draining natural turf baseball fields into a flexible multi-use artificial turf field to welcome several school sports, PE, marching band, and open community use.
Level Up Charging
In response to the New York State mandate that all school bus fleets must transition to zero emissions by 2035, the District required an immediate solution to support four new electric buses with existing electrical infrastructure.
Welcome to Safety
Ithaca City School District set out to address a main office located well into the interior of the building campus, no primary entry point for visitors at Ithaca High School and a scattered group of meeting spaces. Tetra Tech led the design process to create a new secure Welcome Center to solve these problems.
Levels of Play
A previously underutilized outdoor play area at Burton Street Elementary was a poorly draining and monolithic hardscape not serving the needs of the 400-student population.
