Waverly Central School District transformed its natural turf baseball fields into a flexible multi-use artificial turf field to welcome several school sports, PE, marching band, and open community use.
After multiple options were reviewed by District administrators and coaches, this award-winning multi-sport field area turns on a versatile field layout that allows space for soccer or football, or with simultaneous baseball and softball games using a mix of permanent and portable fencing.
Tetra Tech also conducted a comprehensive vehicle and pedestrian site analysis to design new walkways, parking areas, and signage to ensure accessible and safe access for the community to walk, play, and cheer on District athletics.
Because movement and activity support both physical and mental health, a facility that provides a town a great place to move becomes the center the community.
“When I see kids showing up on Saturday with their bats and mitts, I know we are doing something special for the community.”
Superintendent Dr. Eric Knolles
