Andrea Aguirre Earns REP Certification
We are pleased to announce that Andrea Aguirre, PhD, CEM™, LEED AP BD+C, an energy engineer in our Ithaca, NY office, has earned her Renewable Energy Professional (REP) certification!
Issued by the Association for Energy Engineers, the REP™ is designed to recognize the expertise and experience of professionals involved in the specification and application of renewable and alternative energy technologies, assessment of renewable energy projects, and development of achievable low-carbon and sustainability goals for organizations.
Applicants need to meet specific education and work experience, as well as complete a training course and pass a certification exam. The program provides fundamental knowledge across several core principles and practices specific to renewable energy, including its environmental impacts, alternative energy strategies for buildings, and solar, wind, hydropower, geothermal, and biomass energy systems.
As an energy and grant specialist, Andrea uses her technical and research expertise to aid clients in identifying grants and funding streams that are energy focused. With this additional certification, she will use her specialized knowledge to assist Tetra Tech’s project teams in selecting the most appropriate and viable renewable energy technologies and assisting in maximizing the benefits when deploying these systems at small or large scales for our clients.
