In partnership with the Trumansburg Central School District in Trumansburg, New York, the Tetra Tech team guided the District through a comprehensive capital project planning process that aligned facility needs with educational priorities, and long-term operational goals. Working closely with District leadership and stakeholders, Tetra Tech provided a framework of assess that allowed the District to define project needs, evaluate priorities, and shape a capital program that addressed safety and infrastructure improvements, upgrades to fine and performing arts spaces, athletic enhancements, and critical mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system needs.

Throughout the planning effort, Tetra Tech served not only as the District’s architectural and engineering partner, but also as a strategic advisor. The team assisted the District leaders by organizing complex technical information into a clear and compelling vision for sharing with the community.

The A/E team played a role in guiding the District through the 2025 pre-referendum process by providing planning support, community engagement guidance, and a coordinated marketing effort designed to build public understanding and need of the project scope. The team developed information about the proposed capital improvements into accessible, community-focused messaging that explained how the project would enhance student experience, improve building performance, and protect the District’s long-term investment in its facilities. To support that effort, Tetra Tech assisted in developing communication materials and outreach tools that clearly presented the scope of work, the rationale for the improvements, and the benefits to students, staff, and residents. This effort included helping the District organize and communicate project information through public-facing materials, presentations, and messaging strategies that made the referendum process transparent and easy for voters to understand.

By leading the District through this structured planning and outreach process, Tetra Tech created an information alignment between the District’s stated goals and the community’s understanding of the proposed work. The team’s guidance enabled the District to move confidently from project identification and scope development into a successful public information campaign that supported the 2025 pre-referendum effort and positioned the capital project for voter approval. The result was a well-defined, community-supported program that reflected the District’s priorities, responded to facility challenges, and demonstrated the value of thoughtful planning, strong communication, and consistent partnership throughout the referendum process

The community voted in support of the scope of work and the Capital Improvement Project design work is underway and will be implemented as early as summer 2026.
